So I had the great pleasure of taking engagement photos for my friends Heather and Bill. What a great experience that was! Capturing their beautiful love and happiness. Every time I look at them I see how much care Bill has for Heather. I honestly wish that for everyone!!
Their love story is so cute and I am so happy that it ended in engagement and a beautiful cape cod wedding.
It was another Monday funday, Heather and her girls were at a bowling alley in Hyannis. Bill and his friends were playing in the lane next to them. The first thing that Heather noticed about Bill was his broad shoulders. For Bill it was her beautiful face.
First date at a Wendy's drive through after that bowling game. They have been together ever since.
Engagement photo shoot was at the Hoxie house in Sandwich. Absolutely gorgeous place.
She wore a very simple yet beautiful navy dress. He had a nice shirt on, that his fiancée had picked out.
I love how their engagement photos turned out. So romantic.
The wedding will be in June. I cannot wait to be a part of their big day.
The beginning of me becoming a Cape Cod photographer. The beginning of my official career as a Cape Cod photographer was my photo shoot with a friend of mine doing her maternity photos. Even though it was for my friend I felt so nervous. However, as nervous as I was, I was just as excited.
My friend is very outgoing and very comfortable with her body, so taking these photos was a great experience for me and for her. I loved every moment of it: starting with talking about ideas for the session, doing the shoot itself and finishing with editing. I love every part of this process.
Pregnancy is a very different and special experience for every woman. Having beautiful maternity photos to remember this period of a woman’s life is so important. Every time I do these kinds of photo shoots I feel very happy that I can give those memories
After a maternity photo shoot there is a newborn photography – by far my most favorite. I probably will say that about every type of photography I do. There is something so special about brand new babies. I honestly don’t know what it is, maybe the way they smell or the fact that they will never look the same. Newborns are so precious.
I remember my first time taking newborn photographs. The same friend of mine asked me to take photos of her baby boy. I didn’t know anything about it then. Looking back at it now I think how much more difficult I made it for myself than it had to be. I still had so much fun doing it. I am so grateful for all of the resources and the many ways to get information/educate ourselves that we have. I have learned so much since that first newborn photo shoot.
My favorite way to photograph newborns is to create a unique wreath. The reason why I like it the most is because there will never be two of the same. There are so many options for wreaths: flowers, leaves, branches, starfishes and shells, holiday themes. Sky is the limit. No matter what month the baby is born, no matter what the parents like and prefer, there is something out there for every taste.
I do newborn photo sessions at home. This helps to eliminate the stress for a new mother of taking her adorable little child from the comfort of their home. Natural light and some open space is all I need to create.
I really enjoy doing what I do and striving to become the best Cape Cod photographer I can be.
